Why the MBO® Club was created

10-years ago I was running three businesses in central New Jersey. The money was good, but our lifestyle left a lot to be desired. In fact, I was waking up with stomach pains on Saturday morning worrying about what headaches I'd have with our employees on Monday.

Today, Deb and I are living our ideal lifestyle on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. We manage a team of 17 people in five different countries from the middle of the Pacific ocean.

It may be paradise, but getting to where we are now hasn't been an easy road. There was a lot to learn about working with international clients from the most remote island chain in the world.

Yet the mistakes and successes we've had over the last decade have revealed one critical key to small business success. It's the same thing we've seen work with thousands of entrepreneurs from the US to Australia, the UK to Japan, and a dozen other countries in between. It's the same key whether your business is online or off-line. That is...

The surest way to lasting business success is by working from the inside out!

"Inside out. What do you mean by inside out?" you might be asking yourself.

Well, you see, most entrepreneurs start a business after seeing an opportunity in the marketplace. All their energy goes into capitalizing on that opportunity. And sadly, that's why most small businesses fail. They put all their focus on things outside themselves first.

What's more, "failure" does not just mean shutting down the business. An "opportunity-only" focus, (among other lies spread by educators and gurus,) often causes eager entrepreneurs to keep the doors of their business open, but suffering in one or more of the following situations:

  1. They don't know or understand their core strengths, so they don't know how to build the right team to succeed long term. They try to do it all on their own, thinking they can't "afford" to get help, and end up with a J.O.B. instead of a business.

  2. They needlessly waste time and money on a costly trial-and-error approach in all areas of their business. Slowly their energy, motivation and cash flow are sapped, creating a life focused on "surviving" from week to week.

  3. They chase the opportunity and succeed financially, only to realize after years of hard work that the business they created does not deliver the lifestyle they wanted. Feeling trapped they resign themselves to living in the cage they created.

But you don't need to suffer with these struggles and pitfalls. We've fought our way out of each situation ourselves, developed a system to avoid them, and helped thousands of other entrepreneurs turn the tide.

There is a formula for spinning each of these issues 180-degrees and putting them to work for you. And there is a strategic system for taking what most small business people experience as problems and turning them into advantages.

It's what makes the MBO® Club membership the only business coaching of its kind in the world.
